2 November – Hunchback of Notre Dame Movie with Organ

Following the successful screening of the Phantom of the Opera silent movie with organ accompaniment year, there will be a screening of the 1923 silent movie ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ at 7:30pm on Friday 2nd November in the church. Admission is by plate donation to our Organ Fund with refreshments afterwards.

Based on the 1831 novel by Victor Hugo, the film was Universal’s “Super Jewel” of 1923 and was their most successful silent film. The critic’s consensus was “A heart-rending take on the classic book, with a legendary performance by Lon Chaney”.

Larry McGuire, ‘The last Theatre Organist in Scotland’ , again takes to the console and accompanies the movie in what promises to be a very entertaining and thrilling 110 minutes.
